George Zimmerman, the self-proclaimed neighborhood watch captain who shot and killed Miami teen Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, is once again out of jail. He posted his $1 million bond and walked out of jail at about 3 p.m. Though he originally bailed out after his initial arrest, he was ordered back to jail after prosecutors claimed he lied about his finances and the existence of a second passport.
While out on bond Zimmerman cannot open a bank account, go to an airport or apply for a passport. He will also be forced to wear an electronic monitor, and must obey a 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. curfew.
Zimmerman now awaits trial for his second-degree murder charges. He maintains that he shot Martin in self defense.
