Florida’s first brewery dedicated to American wild ales is now open in Pompano Beach. The day after Thanksgiving, Odd Breed Wild Ales owners and brewers Matt Manthe and Dan Naumko debuted their tasting room. The intimate space is located in the city’s industrial-like Old Town Pompano area.

Bar Lab’s Gabe Orta and Elad Zvi, co-owners of the Anderson, organized the evening as a substantial way to give back to the community. “We volunteered at a foster children’s place and really got inspired by it. After meeting the children and hearing their stories, we wanted to give back,” Orta says.

Wynwood Brewing Releases Seasonal, Coquito-Inspired Beer

Christmas has returned to Miami with festive decorations and one particular elixir: Coquito or “little coconut”. Each holiday season, the traditional Puerto Rican holiday beverage gets passed around in offices and among friends and neighbors. It so happens that the founder of Wynwood Brewing Company, Luis Brignoni, is a Boricua himself, and was inspired by the eggnog-like drink for the brewery’s upcoming seasonal release. Coqui-To is a limited-edition milk stout aged in rum barrels, finished with toasted coconut, vanilla beans, cinnamon and cloves.

The Standard Spa to Debut Three-Day Pop-Up Daiquiri Bar

A three-night daiquiri bar is set to pop up at the Standard Spa November 16. Located in the property’s juice café, the bar is the brainchild of Ali Alvarez and Christopher Delvin, founders of Palabar. The two have been hosting a series of 25-seat chef-driven dinners under the name Daily/Nightly. Cocktails have played a large role in the dinners and are now being offered at the pop-up daiquiri bar of the same name.

All Day Launches “Happiest of Hours” With Vermouth Cocktails and New Menu

Downtown java joint All Day is pouring more than coffee now that it’s dishing out a new “Happiest of Hours” menu. The café’s partner and award-winning barista, Camila Ramos, has been thinking about offering the afternoon menu, which includes elephant garlic and steak tartare, since the shop opened in May 2016, but she held off on rolling it out till it could be perfectly executed.

Miami Brewers Collaborate on Beers to Help Hurricane Relief Efforts

In the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, Miami brewers have collaborated on several beers whose proceeds will be donated to relief efforts in Puerto Rico and the Florida Keys. M.I.A. Beer Co. in Doral has teamed up with breweries from the Tampa area — Coppertail, Green Bench, Cycle, and 7venth Sun — to make IRMA IPA. Proceeds from the sale of the beer will be donated to the nonprofit Feeding Florida.

Grovetoberfest 2017: The Best Beers to Drink This Fall

Grovetoberfest returned to Coconut Grove this past Saturday with more than 100 brewers pouring hundreds of beers. The lively event, held in Regatta Park, was a good way for newly opened establishments such as NightLife Brewing Co. and Bousa Brewing Co. to show off their beers alongside South Florida veterans like Concrete Beach and M.I.A. Beer Company.
